Essential Safety Measures (ESM)

Essential safety measures are the active and passive safety elements of a building, installed to ensure the safety of the occupants in the event of an emergency. For over 10 years Yarra Building Surveyor Group has been providing essential safety measures inspections and log book maintenance to local and state-wide building Owner’s.
Buildings built between 1 July 1994 and 1 May 2004 will be subject to an Occupancy Permit and have Essential Safety Measures listed. All buildings built after 1 July 1994 and subject to an Occupancy Permit must have an Annual Essential Safety Measures Report prepared each year.
All building work must comply with the Building Act 1993, Building Regulations 2006 and theBuilding Code of Australia unless specifically exempted.
